Goodman Air Conditioning and Heating

ASM’s Review of Goodman Air Conditioning and Heating Products: Recommend.

All Systems Mechanical installs all makes and models of HVAC equipment, including Goodman air conditioning and heating systems.  Goodman, in our opinion, is one of the most undervalued heating and air conditioning manufacturing companies in the industry.  If they were a stock, I’d buy them.  They make reliable, durable equipment and have one of the best warranties in the industry to back it up.  I would highly recommend you take them into consideration for your HVAC project.

In 1954, Harold Goodman became an HVAC contractor in Houston, TX.  After 21 years of experience in the field, he found that there were too many problems with most of the heating and air conditioning equipment he used – typically from design flaws that made installation hard.  He finally realized that the people who designed the HVAC equipment had never been in the field themselves to see how difficult it was to install.  So, in 1975 he started the Goodman Manufacturing Company, with the goal of designing durable heating and air conditioning equipment that made sense.

Goodman Product Lines

Goodman has an entire line of products that range from SEER 13 to SEER 18 (unsure of what SEER is?  Take a look at: SEER vs EER).  Products include but are not limited to:

  1. DSXC18 (which means “Goodman Two-Speed 18 SEER)
  2. DSXC16
  3. GSX16 (which means “Goodman Single-Speed 16 SEER) – Our Recommendation.
  4. GSX14
  5. GSX13

Pros and Cons of Goodman Air Conditioners and Furnaces

Goodman has one of the most solid reputations in the industry, yet many people don’t know much about them.  Our recommendation for most residential applications is the Goodman GSX16.  Here are some pros and cons for Goodman Products:

Pros

  1. Reliability
  2. Warranty
  3. Price

Cons

  1. One of our favorite products, their split units might not be the right size for some attics – ASM will size your attic and give you available options before making your decision.

Again, Goodman is one of our favorite manufacturing companies and has the most hassle-free warranty of all major HVAC brands.  Remember, we are going to customize a system that is right for you and your needs, so keep Goodman in mind as a viable option before making your final decision on heating and air conditioning equipment.  More detailed information on Goodman products can be found in: Goodman vs Amana.  At ASM, we pride ourselves on honest evaluations and straight answers – call ASM today!
